Big Bang

It is that time of year again when fireworks are the norm. At a festival in Konosu City, Japan, attendees watched a rocket weighing 1,014 pounds and measuring nearly four feet in circumference explode into the night sky. It broke the record for the largest ever firework and caused a ball of fire over 2,624 feet in diameter. This whole fireworks display is impressive, but if you're looking for the big bang, it comes at around 3:15.

Cecelia

The classic song by Simon & Garfunkel gets a fabulous makeover as it is performed by percussion group Stomp, Jimmy Fallon and Paul Simon himself. Makes me smile.

Building Swoop

I probably wouldn't recommend that you swoop between buildings at high speed whilst paragliding but by goodness it looks cool.

Star Trek Axanar

There are no shortage of Star Trek fan films, some are good and some not so, but they're all going to pale in comparison to Axanar. Set 21 years before the events of “Where no Man Has Gone Before”, the first Kirk episode of the original Star Trek, it boasts some big names from previous incarnations of the franchise and some amazing effects and sound that belies its small Kickstarter raised budget.

Axanar is the story of Garth of Izar, the legendary Starfleet captain who is Captain Kirk’s hero. Kirk himself called Garth the model for all future Starfleet Officers. Garth charted more planets than any other Captain and was the hero of the Battle of Axanar, the story of which is required reading at the academy. This is that story. “Axanar” tells the story of Garth and his crew during the Four Years War, the war with the Klingon Empire that almost tore the Federation apart. Garth’s victory at Axanar solidified the Federation and allowed it to become the entity we know in Kirk’s time.

If all that were not enough the creators have released a 21 minute trailer called "Prelude to Axanar" which sets the scene magnificently. You can find out more from the official website.

Stop Motion Parkour

Like me, there is no way CorridorDigital are able to do all the moves that practitioners of parkour can. But unlike me they can create a terrific stop-motion animation to make up for it.
