How Wolves Change Rivers

When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable "trophic cascade" occurred. What is a trophic cascade and how exactly do wolves change rivers? George Monbiot explains in this movie remix.

Climbing Goats

This video might be the best one I have have watched this week. Some goats find a metal sheet to play on. Why on earth does this make me so happy?

A short animated film today. This is called Blik and it tells the story of a young boy moves to a new neighbourhood and falls in love for the first time, with the much older girl next door. I love the style of this. There is something about the artwork that is very fresh and oddly realistic.

I'm writing a book! I'm not sure exactly when I'll be finished and when I'll get it published but it will definitely happen and I'll keep you posted. I'm also not exactly sure if anyone will want to read it, but that's OK. It's called A Trip Through My Brain. Watch out here for news.

The way the media treat the news that my home town of Worcester is currently flooding always makes me chuckle. I was born here and have lived here for most of my life and let me tell you its just not news. The city floods every year to a lesser or greater degree. This year is quite bad admittedly, but I have seen it much worse. Perhaps this year I'll achieve my dream to kayak down the centre lane of the main streets.

In the meantime I've been out with my camera.

We have come an awfully long way when it comes to the world of data storage. Dell has produced this rather nice infographic to illustrate some of the milestones.
