Lego House

I can see why you'd want to live in a large mansion. I've often dreamt of it myself, but there is also something very appealing about a small hideaway. Especially if it is as well organised as this.

This 24 square metre (258 square feet) apartment belongs to Christian Schallert and is located in Barcelona's trendy Born district. It is a remodelled pigeon loft. Christian says its design was inspired by the space-saving furniture aboard boats, as well as the clean lines of a small Japanese home.

Too Fast To See

This video features a lot of blank skies. This is because the RC jet that the cameraman is attempting to follow is just too fast for him to keep up with. Hans Litjens flies his radio controlled jet powered by a Jetcat P160 SE. This model has been lasered at 586KM/h or 366mph if you prefer.

Take Your Time

"Some people like taking their time," says Kim Rugg, She is not kidding. This video, filmed in her London home and studio talking about her work re-imagining newspapers, comics, stamps and cereal boxes using their existing form while rearranging their content. Kim finds inspiration from the mundane and common objects around us. Her wicked knife skills and tenacious attention to detail have create a body of work that is as impressive as it is curious.

Misheard Lyrics

Have you ever misheard a lyric? Were you sure that you had it right only to be laughed at by your peers when they heard you singing something completely wrong? Don't feel bad, many people get it wrong. You've only got to take a look at to see that. Luckily Peter Kay can make us all laugh about it.

Single Duel

I'm sure you're familiar with the iconic scene from the film Deliverance? Often called Dueling Banjos, you can remind yourself here. A great piece of music that needs two talented people right? Well not according to Mark Kroos. He can play it on his own.

Family Memes

You've all seen memes right? Some pictures lend themselves to a funny line or two and but who starts them off? Well if you see the following ones again you'll know they started right here as these feature my grand-daughters. Enjoy and feel free to spread them around.

Inside Job

I always suspected there was something dodgy about this. It was all just too convenient. A brilliant parody of a conspiracy theory documentary.

We Didn't Own An iPad

I'm afraid my overseas readers perhaps won't get as much from this as I hope the UK ones will. Well the ones that are a similar age to me that is. Youtube user hunkygraham1 was feeling nostalgic for his childhood in the 70's and 80's and made this great video and parody of We Didn't Start The Fire by Billy Joel. How many of these do you remember?

Cell Chase

I'm sure that nobody reading this would doubt that the human body is an amazing thing. But you might be like me and take it for granted now and again. Watching a video like this is a great reminder of just what a stunning vehicle we have. This was taken from a 16mm movie made in the 1950's by the late David Rogers at Vanderbilt University. It features a white blood cell chasing a bacterium. All it needs is the Benny Hill music. :-)

Turning Rook

The best word I can think of to describe the following video is "satisfying" but I really can't explain why. It features the turning of a rook chess piece out of 2.5" diameter aluminium bar.

OK so you think I'm a bit odd, I won't argue with you.

Test Drive Prank

Pepsi have a new commercial in the states that had gone viral. NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon disguises himself as an average guy nervously looking to take a brand new Chevrolet Camaro out for a test drive. Hidden cameras and an unsuspecting salesman complete the ruse.

Dog Day

I could complain that some people have way too much time on their hands if they can create a video like this. But the truth is I am just jealous because I'd be doing the same thing if I could. :-)

Hot Seat

This video really stumps me. It isn't because the titles are in German. It isn't because the Japanese character means "tiger" and why would anyone want flames and a tiger on their toilet lid?? (OK I do now). It's because this looks so simple but it clearly isn't because the end result is simply stunning.

Ode To The Odd

I could listen to this again and again. Michael Hearst and his odd instruments. For those that are interested, they are (in order of appearance): Knockman "Chachak", daxophone, Hohner claviola, bass melodica, stylophone, otamatone, Moog theremin, Elasticbrand Audioware rattle and a porter's bell.

Pale Blue Dot

23 years go last month the Voyager 1 spacecraft took a photograph of Earth that became known as "The Pale Blue Dot". The craft was about 4 billion miles away and was commanded to turn its camera around to take it's last shot of home before it was out of range. This was done at the request of Carl Sagan. Subsequently, the title of the photograph was used by Sagan as the main title of his 1994 book.

Amazing Randi v Magnet Man

The title of today's post might make you think of a battle of super-heroes, but it is sadly much less exciting. James Randi, who I have posted about before, exposes yet another attempt to scam the gullible in to believing they possess some sort of supernatural power. A Korean TV show features somebody who claims to have a magnetic body. Randi proves that actually he is a just a very sweaty guy. :-)
